The program for the first day, held on February 24th, was as follows:UD Fonts and EducationThe event featured a mini seminar by Mr. Takada of Morisawa Inc., developer of UD fonts, in which he shared the voices of local governments.

The speaker was Mr. Takada, a UD font developer at Morisawa Inc.

As a typeface designer for 32 years, he has worked on typefaces in a variety of fields, and for the past 10 years has been involved in the planning and production of "BIZ UD Mincho Gothic" and "UD Digital Textbook Font" as chief designer. He is currently active in a wide range of fields, giving lectures at seminars and workshops for teachers, boards of education, and students, as well as writing for education-related booklets and academic journals, in order to spread awareness of the importance and role of typefaces in the educational field.

Mini-seminar content

This session will introduce the role of typefaces, the meaning and development background of UD (Universal Design) fonts, and the design of the "UD Digital Textbook Font" in relation to children's reading-related problems. Finally, the session will introduce the "UD Digital Textbook Font Stroke Order Font," which will be included in MORISAWA BIZ+ and the UD Font Plan for Public Organizations this spring.
