Introduction to issue 22 of "SHAKE ART!"

Headline: Body text:

An advertisement for Morisawa was created and published in issue 22 of "SHAKE ART!", a free paper published by a group of art students in the Kansai region.

The theme of this issue is "embody" = to materialize.
We spoke to Mr. Hayashi, who created this advertisement.

For this advertisement, we linked the theme of this issue, "embody" (to give form to), to the concept that "there are so many fonts to help you give shape to your feelings."

Fonts may usually be overshadowed by photographs, colors, and graphics, but we wanted to raise awareness of the indispensable role they play in supporting modern visual information, so we used a variety of typefaces.

I thought a lot about how to make the font stand out as a central element. Since we used a lot of typefaces this time, we tried to limit the number of colors as much as possible so as not to overwhelm the main focus, and we tried to keep the graphics from being too flashy, while still making them easy to read... we tried to strike a balance between eye-catching and legible.

"I want to see you again."
"What are you doing now?"
How can I effectively communicate my feelings to others?
While I was searching around, I found the MORISAWA PASSPORT academic edition!
It's a pop ad that evokes a story like this...

The catchphrase "Take shape and convey this feeling" is also memorable.

The catchphrase used was "Heading MB31". Looking at Morisawa's typeface sample page, I found that "Because the letters are designed to be smaller than other Gothic typefaces, it is not overbearing even when used at a larger size, and is a typeface that can be used in advertisements, magazine headlines, or longer catch phrases to convey the meaning of the words in a relaxed manner."

Personally, I felt that it didn't look out of place even when placed quite large, and that it was a good typeface that had an eye-catching effect.

Issue 22 of "SHAKE ART!" is marked by this cute illustration on the cover!
If you see it, be sure to pick it up!
