In issue 39 of "GRAPH PRESS," a free paper published by volunteer students from the Department of Graphic Design at Tama Art University,Morisawa Fonts Standard Plan for StudentsWe created and published an advertisement for this product.
(Graph Press' Instagram, where you can see videos of the exhibition and distribution of this issue, can be found here:Here)

The ad was created with the idea of using the wide range of fonts included in Morisawa Fonts' standard plan for students to represent unique classmates.

After publishing the magazine, we interviewed the GRAPH PRESS editorial department!
Q. What message is conveyed in this issue's theme, "Perspective"?
I think that people who are involved with design, whether they are students or not, are interested in the perspectives that creators active on the front lines have when they think and design. We also believe that learning about this is a good opportunity to broaden our perspectives, so in this issue we interviewed creators who are active not only in the field of graphics, but also in the fields of video and fashion.
."Delivering a new perspectiveWe planned and designed everything from the magazine to the exhibition based on the concept of ``.''

Q. You created an advertisement for Morisawa Fonts aimed at students. What did you focus on and what were the challenges?
What we focused onTo stand outis.
We looked through advertisements from the previous year, keeping in mind the overall trends, and created a visual that would stand out.
I was conscious of how much I could highlight about the difficulties I had.
Many students in the Graphic Design Department at Tama Art University regularly use Morisawa fonts.
However, I thought that only a few students would recognize the font as a Morisawa font. So instead of explaining the coolness of the font from scratch, I introduced one of the characteristics of Morisawa fonts.A wide variety of optionsOur goal was to convey this message so that people would say, "Oh, so this is a Morisawa font!"
Q. After creating the advertisement, what do you think is the appeal of Morisawa Fonts for students? What activities in student life do you think it could be used for?
It's cheap and varied.
I thought the student price of 990 yen per year was a very affordable price. Students don't have much money (lol).
Also, because there are so many variations, I think it can be used for both assignments and independent projects. It can be used in a wide variety of ways, such as adding it to a soft illustration, using it in a poster with geometric shapes, or as a logo.

By using unique fonts that we see in our daily lives, such as the Pouf series and Pretty Peach, we were able to create an advertisement that makes people realize, "This is also a Morisawa font."
Thank you for creating such a wonderful ad that students will want to use easily!
