After working as a registered dietitian for three years, I decided that I wanted to do a job I loved, so I started attending a vocational school for design. After that, I worked as a freelance designer, and now I work for a food company while doing design work on the side.

I was originally a systems engineer, but I saw potential in my music hobby, so I went to graduate school for a content-related degree. I currently work as a web designer and create songs and music videos as a Vocaloid producer.
Fonts are extremely important when creating a music video. If the font looks out of place, it's hard to get into the song... That's why I think carefully choosing a font that matches the melody of the song is an important skill. Sometimes I deliberately use a distinctive font to add accents to important parts, but I generally try to create a production that allows the viewer to focus on the song.

I'm a graphic designer who works on exhibition promotional materials and book covers. In particular, when working on exhibitions, I rarely receive specific instructions, so I try to understand and express the client's intentions. If I feel that a photo is necessary, I will suggest one, and conversely, even if I've received a photo in advance, I may express it using only typography.
I especially pay attention to not misleading people. I try not to use typography to lead in a specific direction.Gothic MB101"or"Taigo B101We strive to use neutral expressions, such as "

When I was in college, I was making a free paper with my club, so Morisawa was one of the software programs I wanted to have. I was able to get it at the student price, so I purchased the Morisawa Passport Academic Edition in my first year of college.
After graduating from university, I started getting work midway through my first year of graduate school, and the usage period expired. At that time, a discount plan became available, so I thought, "I can pay 10,000 yen," and purchased the discount plan.

When I was attending a vocational school for graphic design, I had a teacher who was a big fan of Morisawa. He even carried around the "New Typeface List" sent to him by Morisawa (laughs). I felt it was natural to use Morisawa fonts, so after graduating I thought, "I have to buy it," and purchased the MORISAWA PASSPORT special plan.

Morisawa fonts are essential for creating music videos. I also started using them naturally without even realizing it. I also used them for the lyric sheet of a CD I produced recently.Morisawa Universal Design (UD) fontsI like UD fonts because they are very easy to read.

I met him at the design school I was attending. The school had a night school, so it was easy to attend even if you had a job. Most of the people in my class were people who had worked and wanted to become designers. Everyone there really loved design and illustration, so it was fun.

What benefits do you see in using Morisawa fonts?

It's great that it's easy to read even in games. I used to work at a startup game development company, and they asked me to tell them anything I noticed, so I even suggested, "Maybe we should use Morisawa fonts?"
As a designer, I sometimes get requests from clients saying, "I like this Morisawa font."It's reassuring to haveis.

After graduating from a design college, I debated whether to purchase the MORISAWA PASSPORT special plan, but I decided to buy it first and then decide. When I post illustrations on Instagram, just having Morisawa's typefaces adds a touch of class, and when I create newspaper textures for work, using Morisawa typefaces makes them look stylish. Also, when I show Morisawa fonts to people when I create logos, they often say, "It's fine as is," so I plan to continue using them in the future.

Morisawa fonts not only have a wide variety of types, but I'm also pleased that no matter which one I choose, the quality is high. I could search for similar fonts online, but it takes time and effort, and I don't always find the exact same font. Of course, the quality is high overall,Extremely efficient workFor these reasons, I feel that it is worth using Morisawa fonts.

Recently, I had a job where I had to create a design in four languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean. When working with multiple languages, the key is to match the tone.Morisawa has fonts for various languages, so it's easy to match the tone.It was helpful that I was able to typeset everything using Morisawa fonts for this job as well. The lineup is so extensive that you can create a unique atmosphere in multiple languages. This gives users a sense of security and trust.

Is there any message you would like to convey to students who are aiming for a creative career?

The appeal of being a designer is that you can work anywhere as long as you have a computer. I had to move because I got married, but even if I moved far away, I could continue working the same way as before. Not only is it a fun creative job, but it's great that you can work anywhere.

I think that many students give up on their path to becoming a creator once they fail to find employment. If you continue doing something that you love, other paths may open up, so don't give up and keep going. That's right.
I too plan to increase my creative time and eventually aim to become a freelance designer.

Thank you for your valuable talk today!
