From Nishinomiya City, where UD fonts have actually been introduced in schools, Mr. Taniguchi and Mr. Yoshida from the Board of Education, who are in charge of training programs and promoting school information technology, shared with us what prompted them to introduce UD fonts and the results of a survey of on-site staff.

Until Nishinomiya City introduced UD fonts
To Mr. Taniguchi,MORISAWA BIZ+ UD Font Plan for Public OrganizationsWe were given a detailed account of the steps taken to implement the system.
After the budget was formulated, Morisawa provided information and proposals, and we were told how they proceeded after missing out on the opportunity to implement the system.
At the stage of gaining understanding from those around you, the introduction of UD fontsBenefits for all" and " when teaching foreign languages in elementary schools.School affairs improvement" seems to have become the keyword.
I was also very impressed by the fact that the underlying sentiment of the entire organization was the words, "Teachers' burden will not increase, and students' learning will progress. By introducing UD fonts, everyone will be a little happier."

Reasons for 81% UD font penetration rate
Yoshida spoke about the current state of use since the introduction, including the penetration rate among teachers and staff who are actually using UD fonts, and situations in which they would like to use UD fonts in the future. Now that UD fonts have been widely adopted, the content created by teachers is becoming easier to learn and the burden on teachers is being reduced.
This survey also revealed that there are still many cases in which UD fonts are desired to be used in educational settings.

We received feedback that the talk was useful for teachers and board of education members currently working towards introducing UD fonts.
