Headline: Body text:

On July 2, 2025, Morisawa held a hybrid in-person and online seminar for local government public relations personnel. Approximately 200 people participated in the seminar, both in person and online.

It was a fulfilling session packed with know-how that can be immediately put to use in the field, such as how to use social media and web media appropriately, how to design visuals, and how to create mechanisms to encourage residents to take action in order to respond to the ever-changing information environment.

Part 1 | Tomoyuki Sakuma

Use social media with consideration for who you want to reach and what you want to reach.

The opening lecture was an update on social media strategies by public relations advisor Sakuma Tomoyuki.
Given that the proportion of people over 60 who use the internet, including social media, is increasing, he emphasized that it is essential for local governments to utilize the internet.
He says it is important not just to think about how ("other local governments are using social media, so we should too"), but also to think about who (who) and what (what) you want to deliver to, and to select an effective means of disseminating information, and that you should understand the characteristics of each medium and use them appropriately depending on the content you want to convey.
