"FONT SWITCH MAGAZINE Vol.2" published!

Headline: Body text:

The fruit of the free magazine team's efforts, "FONT SWITCH MAGAZINE Vol.2" was finally published the other day!!

The theme of this issue is "Letters are strings!"
If "voice" is a fresh "raw food," then "letters" are "dried fish" that are not as fresh but have a high preservation rate and offer a flavor not found in raw foods.

Based on this concept, the front cover, back cover and title page all feature dried fish-like gimmicks, creating a unique-looking free magazine.

Highlights of this issue

In this interview, we asked Yui Takada, a graphic designer known for her distinctive use of text, about the roots of her own designs.
He talked about why he incorporates phototypesetting and letterpress printing into his designs, his favorite fonts, and words of encouragement for students studying design.

In "Visiting Phototypesetters," we explored the appeal of phototypesetters with the cooperation of Yoshihiro Ito of Mojido Co., Ltd. and Yasuo Komai of Prostudio Co., Ltd.
This was a valuable report, as we spoke to two people who love typesetters and members of the Moripass club actually had the opportunity to type on a typesetter.

The book is packed with other content, including "Understanding Morisawa Fonts," which introduces how professional designers use fonts with examples, "The Story of Typesetting," which gives a casual understanding of the history of type, phototypesetting, and DTP, and "Our Concrete Poetry," a concrete poetry piece by Moripass club members.

No matter where you start reading, it's sure to be a fascinating book.
Please get some at school and enjoy it!
