Q. What kind of creative activities do you do?
Basically, I work mainly in print media.
In addition, personally,Webor3DCGI am also studying fields such as programming.
Q. The moment when the font's sensitivity was turned on
It was when I was just a freshman in high school. I learned about Swiss typography through a designer I liked. From then on, I started to study various aspects of typography. When I started studying, I became more sensitive to the letters around me and started to enjoy observing them. Looking back now, the time when I found observing them to be enjoyable was "ON” I think that was the moment when that happened.
Thanks to that designer, I became interested in typography and decided to become a designer, so he is a very important person to me.
Q. What is your favorite Morisawa font and why?
Recently, I like and use it a lot.MedagoMB31is.
Gothic MB101I think the "Kanji" is also famous, but the letters are smaller in size and look cleaner when assembled. I still feel that it has a strong impression. It's one of my recent favorites. There are a lot of other fonts I like.
When composing the text, I often useHidehide Minchois.
RyuminI think there are some comparisons, but Ryumin tends to have a sharp, cool feel. I personally like the soft feel of the connected parts of Shuei Mincho. The main text of the magazine I made in Professor Moriyama's class, "Making a Magazine," was written in Shuei Mincho for kanji and inMain MinchoI chose.
Q. What do you think of the teachers at this school?
Personally, I feel they are people who teach me how to think, and that is something I am very grateful for.
In the history of typefaces, from movable type to phototypesettingDesktop PublishingJust as technology can become outdated, there are times when technology becomes outdated. However, I think the ideas that were developed at that time will remain relevant for a long time.
So for me, I'm very grateful to be taught how to think, and I hope to be able to put it to good use in the future.
Q. The moment the switch turns "OFF"
When I'm just lying in bed, daydreaming and not thinking about anything, I completely switch off.
Q. What would you like to challenge yourself with in the future? What are you interested in?
Recently, I've been most interested in dynamic content.WebI would like to try using typography in dynamic things such as moving images and videos.
Also, something I want to do while I'm still a student is to properly study calligraphy and calligraphy. It's nothing big, but if you look at the people who came before me, many of them had a background in calligraphy. I think it would be best to follow their example and learn properly. I think the best chance is while I'm a student, when I have the freedom to use my time.
