For customers considering migrating from MORISAWA PASSPORT for educational institutions to Morisawa Fonts
Starting Wednesday, March 5, 2025, we have begun offering the "Morisawa Fonts Educational Institution Plan."
As a result, we will be gradually discontinuing the provision of our previous product, "MORISAWA PASSPORT for Educational Institutions."
Renewal procedures will be accepted for customers whose contracts expire at the end of October 2025 for multi-year contracts, and for customers whose contracts expire at the end of December 2028 for single-year contracts.

The license format is changing
With Morisawa Fonts, the licensing format will change from a device license (per device on which the font is installed) to a user license (per user who uses the font).
In situations where you want to use fonts on shared PCs used by multiple people, such as in PC classrooms at educational institutions,You can still use it with a device license.Licenses are available.

User and device licenses
A user license is a license that is tied to a user. A Morisawa ID is required to use it. By logging in with your Morisawa ID, you can use it on any machine.
A device license is a license that is tied to a shared PC. A Morisawa ID is not required for each PC on which the font is installed. Anyone within the educational institution can use the PC on which the font is installed.

Purchase example when migrating Morisawa Fonts
Purchase example 1: A contract for 100 MORISAWA PASSPORTs for educational institutions is made for use with 5 units for faculty and staff PCs, 90 units for shared PCs in the PC room, and 5 units for printing devices.
- Five licenses of "Morisawa Fonts Educational Institution Plan Faculty License" were signed for faculty PCs managed by educational institutions.
- The PC room and printer are shared by multiple users, so we signed a 95-license agreement for the Morisawa Fonts Educational Institution Plan Equipment License.
Purchase example 2: A contract for one MORISAWA PASSPORT for educational institutions is made for use by staff in the public relations department on their PCs.
- For use on a shared PC by multiple people, one license of "Morisawa Fonts Educational Institution Plan Equipment License" was contracted.
Purchase example 3: When signing up for one MORISAWA PASSPORT for educational institutions for use on faculty and staff PCs

How to purchase Morisawa Fonts Educational Institution Plan equipment licenses
STEP 1 Contact us
Product Page(On the Morisawa Fonts website)Dedicated formPlease access the website. After you have filled in the required information and applied, we will confirm the details and send you your Morisawa ID via email.
*If you already have a Morisawa ID, you cannot issue a new ID with the same email address.Please change your email address and submit your request using the dedicated form.
STEP 2: Purchase application form issuance procedure
Log in to the site using the Morisawa ID you have been issued and complete the procedure to issue a purchase request form from the contract administrator page (Organization Console).
*Please check the MORISAWA PASSPORT contract period and specify the contract start month when submitting your purchase application. This will allow you to use the fonts without interruption.
STEP 3: Purchase an educational institution equipment license
Please submit the issued purchase application form to your local distributor or our sales representative to make your purchase.
*It will take approximately 3 business days to process your purchase application after it arrives at our company.
*Please complete the procedure well before the expiration date of the purchase application form.
STEP4 Start using
After purchasing, you can start using the service once you receive the activation email.
*The contract details and contract period of your MORISAWA PASSPORT will not be carried over.
*After starting your Morisawa Fonts contract, you will need to migrate the font environment you installed with MORISAWA PASSPORT. Please uninstall the MORISAWA PASSPORT fonts and install the Morisawa Fonts fonts.
