Japan Anime & Manga College Interview with Yofu Yozara

Headline: Body text:

Japan Anime and Manga College
Comic Illustration Department, 2nd year
Yosawa Yofusan (PN)

Q. What kind of creative activities do you do?

A. I create illustrations and logos.

Q. The moment when the font's sensitivity was turned on

A. I've always loved tanka poetry, and since I was in high school I've been drawing pictures with tanka as the theme. I noticed that there were many different types of Mincho fonts, and from there I started to pay attention to the typesetting and fonts when adding text to my drawings.

Creating a title logo for a doujinshi also gave me the opportunity to think about typefaces.

Q. What is your favorite Morisawa font and why?

A. "Maru Antique" and "Kamo Lime." They're cute and pop, yet easy to read.

"Maru Antique" is a standard cute design, and if that's not enough for you, I use "Camo Lime."

Q. What do you think of the teachers at this school?

A. They will listen sincerely and provide support not only to your assignments but also to your creative hobbies!

Q. The moment the switch turns "OFF"

A. I think it was when I was drawing as a hobby.

In the end, I draw pictures whether I'm on or off, and in fact, I might be creating logos when I'm off (laughs).

Q. What would you like to challenge yourself with in the future? What are you interested in?

A. I would like to try creating a more elaborate logo and an illustration that includes letter placement and logo design.

I'm also interested in book binding, but I'm not good at the pop designs of romantic comedies or everyday life, so I'd like to create cute designs as well!
