Night School Visual Design Major 2nd Year
Natsumi Terauchi (2nd batch member of Moripass Club)

Q. What kind of creative activities do you do?

A. I create letters and draw illustrations. When I find a word that catches my eye or that I think is cute, I try to turn it into a word based on that image.

Q. The moment when the font's sensitivity was turned on

A. After receiving strict instruction from my teacher, I felt depressed and almost hated fonts, but then I picked myself up.

Q. What is your favorite Morisawa font and why?

A. "Medium Gothic BBB." It has a simple, refined feel without any pretense, and it has a clean, easy-to-approach feel. If it were a person, I imagine they would have a good personality. I imagine them wearing MUJI or UNIQLO (lol).

Q. What do you think of the teachers at this school?

A. It's just so passionate! Kuwasawa Ai is amazing. When I go to her for advice, even though it's outside of class, she'll give me about an hour of guidance on one piece of work, and on the spiritual side, she talks to me about life and love.

Q. The moment the switch turns "OFF"

A. When I'm eating something delicious or sleeping. Sometimes I get tired of doing my homework, and even when I think, "I don't want to see fonts anymore!", letters are everywhere, so I see them in my daily life, so at times like that I go to sleep (laughs).

Q. What would you like to challenge yourself with in the future? What are you interested in?

A. In my second year, I started taking classes on editorial and advertising, and I feel like my way of thinking has become a step deeper. I think I've reached the year where I'm expected to learn what is necessary for a designer.
